Here we go YO...gurt!

Apparently we are not going to be graced by a PINKBERRY in San Diego until January 2008. It's location will be in the new Hard Rock Hotel on Fifth & K. Until then here's some other great options for the new Yogurt Craze.

Yog-art - HILLCREST
1255 University Ave
(between Richmond St & Vermont St)
San Diego, CA 92103

I recently went into Yog-art and was excited to find all the different choices of toppings I could choose from. Cereal toppings such as Captain Crunch to fresh cut mango & strawberries.
My ultimate topping choice is MOCHI!

They also have smoothies, boba and even spring rolls. According to one of the owners, Hannah Pham, Yog-art will be adding coffee to their menu very soon.

Try the samples....TARO yogurt is a local favorite.

Dolci Mango - Pacific Beach
1420 Garnet Avenue
San Diego, CA 92109

Pacific Beach has a yummy yogurt spot to satify that craving. They too have fresh fruit and cereal toppings to pour over your choice of Plain or green tea flavored yogurt. Certain days they offer cappucino, mango and sometimes peanut butter flavored yogurt.

Me

Tis the Season to be PHO'ing!

Have pho on the brain...here are a few of my favorite vietnamese grub spots.

Phuong tran Restaurant - Kearny Mesa
4170 Convoy Street (between Armour St & Othello Ave)
San Diego, CA 92111 (858) 565-6750

I really enjoy the Pho' with Tofu and fresh vegetables at Phuong tran restaurant.
The regular size is very large. I'm still quite full from the other night.

Convoy Noodle House - Kearny Mesa
4647 Convoy St
San Diego, CA 92111
(858) 277-0133

Ca Dao Restaurants - City Heights & Mira Mesa
5223 El Cajon Blvd
San Diego, CA 92115
619-326-1420

I haven't been to the one in Mira Mesa, however, the Ca Dao in City Heights never fails to deliver an authentic bowl of pho and a plateful of basil and bean sprouts

Mira Mesa Location:
8372 Mira Mesa Blvd
San Diego, CA 92126

Cilantro Live

http://cilantrolive.com

Time to get raw. This spacious cafe serves up delicious raw food. Everything is at least vegetarian, with most items being vegan. Nothing is cooked over 95 degrees which ensures that the nutrients won't be cooked away. There's also reading material at every table for your enjoyment.

Cilantro has four locations (check their website for more details). T went to the Chula Vista location which is conveniently located across the street from the gym. =D

A cool place to show-off to your friends how eco-friendly and healthy you are. ;D

View from the street

[Pina Colada smoothie] Creamy & not too sweet. Perfect for post-workout. $6

[Spring Roll appetizer] Fresh, cool & crunchy. $7

[Rainbow sandwich] Grilled zucchini & bell pepper served with onions, lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo & homemade pesto. Came with a nice house salad too. $8

Newbreak Coffee Co.

Perfect beach hangout. Grab a sandwich, open your laptop and listen to the waves.

Me had her favorite, the Tuna Sprouter (tuna salad, mayo, melted swiss cheese & sprouts) for $5.99

T enjoyed the Chedder Cheese & Tomato grilled panini on Pita bread for $5.99 as well. Also purchased was a thirst quenching iced soy latte. Perfect to sip as you gaze out onto Ocean Beach.

The food was so good, we forgot to take "before" pictures. Here's T's "after"

The Living Room Coffeehouse

A San Diego classic. Me & T headed to the Living Room in Point Loma. Casual, homey & there's plenty of seating (inside and outside).

Me & T split a delicious Fruit Band (strawberries, kiwi, & pineapple on a thin layer of sponge cake and tart crust dipped in chocolate).
